Job Description

The Department of Leadership, Technology and Human Development in the College of Education invites applications and nominations for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology with an emphasis on School Library Media. The home campus for this position will be the Statesboro campus.

This position is a 10-month, nontenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Duties

Reporting to the department chair, the Clinical Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology position requires teaching courses at the master’s and educational specialist levels, and service.

The position involves collaborating with faculty across the College of Education and performing service to the department, college, University, and to the professional community.


Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology, or closely related field, with a master’s degree or Certificate in School Library Media, by August 1, 2021.
  • Ability to use and model technology in instruction.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
  • Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • K-12 school library media experience.
  • Ability to design and teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses (online).
  • Higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience or interest in program administration.

The Instructional Technology program offers graduate degrees at the master’s and educational specialist levels, an Instructional Design and Technology undergraduate minor, and an Online Teaching and Learning Endorsement. A current emphasis is the School Library Media (SLM) certificate program. The M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and the School Library Media (SLM) certificate programs afford both educators and non-educators the opportunity to become certified school library media specialists.
