This webinar will explore the needs for preparing future libraries to be ready to fulfill major rights and justice roles of libraries (e.g., education, inclusion, and social services), the educational courses programs that already exist in these areas among LIS schools, and the reasons for resistance to teaching these areas among some in the field. It will also address best practices and the economic, policy, political, and social incentives that LIS schools and professionals have to prepare future librarians for rights and justice roles in their communities.
