Job Description

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications (SJMC) at the University of South Carolina (USC) invites applications for a twelve-month professional-track instructor with expertise in social media listening and analytics. This person will also provide oversight and direction for the college’s Social Media Insights Lab. The purpose of this position is to further strengthen the college’s expertise in social media analytics for the benefit of our students, faculty, and partners.

Job Duties

  • This is a position with both teaching and administrative responsibilities.
  • Ability to teach courses in the area of social media analytics at undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Oversee and manage the operation of the CIC’s Social Media Insights Lab, which includes writing and publishing reports, managing personnel, and working with academic and professional partners.
  • Support faculty research, including the UNESCO chair, as well as training.

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

Master’s degree in a related field is required. Experience teaching, working with social media analytics, writing public reports, and management within an academic environment.
Five years’ professional experience preferred.
