Kimiz Dalkir

McGill University

Position: Co-chair

Term: October 2020 to September 2021 (ALISE '20 to ALISE '21)

Dr. Kimiz Dalkir is an Associate Professor and Director of the School of Information Studies at McGill University.  Prior to joining McGill, Dr. Dalkir was Global Practice Leader KM for Fujitsu Consulting and she worked in the field of knowledge transfer and retention with international clients.  Dr. Dalkir wrote Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice (MIT Press, 3rd Ed published 2017),which has had an international impact on KM education and on KM practice.  Here most recent publication was Navigating Fake News, Alternative Facts and Misinformation in a Post-Truth World. (with R. Katz). Dr. Dalkir’s research focuses on innovation and collaboration support, tacit knowledge sharing, lessons learned and organizational learning. 

 

James Elmborg

University of Alabama

Position: Co-chair

Term: October 2020 to September 2021 (ALISE '20 to ALISE '21)

Dr. James Elmborg is Professor and Director at the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama.  Before coming to Alabama, he was Professor and past Director at the University of Iowa.  His research is in the area of critical studies as it informs academic library practice, with particular interest in critical information literacy.  He was also instrumental in establishing Digital Humanities at Iowa, where he was the founding Director of the graduate certificate in Public Digital Humanities.
