ALISE’s Emerging Scholars Program supports the organization’s mission by providing an avenue for future LIS academics to engage, learn, and grow as educators. In recognition that the role of a LIS educator is in constant evolution and one which carries with it great complexity, the Emerging Scholars seeks to organize, coordinate, and deliver programs that help prepare, educate, and inform those new to the professoriate. The program supports new scholars’ needs as they enter the field of LIS education, to support their growth in the profession. The program will be conducted as a series of online webinars and a conference workshop that will address current issues related to teaching practice, research success, and service in today’s academic environment.
