The program’s focus is to prepare leaders who promote the multiple literacies (print, media, technological, and scientific) that accompany 21st century librarianship.
This is an exciting time of growth for our program. Our program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and nationally recognized by the American Association of School Librarians through 2028. As of July 2021, our program has been granted Precandidacy status by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association. Precandidacy status is an indication that the program has voluntarily committed to participate in the ALA accreditation process and is actively seeking accreditation.
