Job Description

The School of Information (iSchool) at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure track positions, normally as an assistant, associate, or full professor of instruction or practice.

These positions will start as early as Fall 2021, to coincide with the official launch of the B.S.I./B.A. in Informatics.

Job Duties

These faculty members will teach primarily in the iSchool’s new undergraduate degree programs, the B.S.I. and B.A. in Informatics, although teaching at the graduate level is also possible.

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. degree in the relevant academic discipline; or
  • Doctoral candidates who will complete the Ph.D. degree prior to September 1, 2021; or
  • Master's degree in the relevant field with two years of teaching experience in a university setting.
Candidates who currently or will potentially make outstanding contributions to the diversification of their scholarly fields and/or institutions of higher education are especially encouraged to apply.

  • A teaching statement (2-4 pages) addressing how your teaching can contribute to one or more concentrations in the Informatics major, as well as discussing the courses that you would be able to teach in the Informatics major,
