2010 Presentation

Dr. Malone's book The Future of Work provides the first credible model for actually designing the company of the future. He argues that a more decentralized, “coordinate and cultivate” approach to organizational design will reap the scale and knowledge efficiencies of large organizations while enabling the freedom, flexibility, and human values that drive smaller firms. Going beyond issues of architecture, Tom defines the skills managers will need in a workplace in which everyone shares the power to decide.

Dr. Malone is a visionary proponent of new organizational designs that take maximum advantage of information technology’s expanding possibilities. Author of The Future of Work and Director of MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence, discusses how new communication technologies can serve global collaboration.

This optimistic presentation shows how we can help create a world that is not just richer, but better.
