Presentation Description:
The co-editors of the ALISE Book Series, Jaya Raju and Dietmar Wolfram, and Rowman & Littlefield Executive Editor Charles Harmon, will present on the scope of the book series, the process of submitting a book proposal to the ALISE Book Series, working with the editors during the writing stage, and the production activities with the publisher Rowman & Littlefield once the manuscript is accepted. The presenters will also provide time to answer questions about the book series. This webinar will also be of interest to anyone who would like to learn about what the development of a book project with an academic publisher entails.

Dietmar Wolfram holds the rank of Professor at the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he has served on the faculty since 1990. He is a Past-President of ALISE and serves as co-editor of the ALISE Book Series.

Jaya Raju is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Knowledge and Information Stewardship at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a PhD in Information Studies. She has researched and written extensively in the area of LIS education and work place competency requirements. Jaya Raju is currently Co-Chair of IFLA’s Building Strong LIS Education (BSLISE), an active global network of LIS educators and researchers.

Charles Harmon is an Executive Editor at Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. In this role, he oversees books in library and information services, museum studies, and archival science. Prior to Rowman & Littlefield, Charles was Vice-President and Director of Publishing at Neal-Schuman Publishers and before that Director of the American Library Association’s Library and Information Center. Harmon holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in library science.
