Job Description

The School of Information Science & Learning Technologies is searching for a faculty member to join our team who shares our commitment to high impact research, teaching excellence, exceptional service to students, interdisciplinary collaboration with academic programs and industries, and continuous quality improvement in an environment of civility and respect.

Job Duties

Applicants for the position should provide evidence of research expertise and external funding in one or more of the following key areas:
  • User experience (UX) design research; Usability; Human computer interface; Human-centered design
  • Information management (specifically technical approaches such as managing data structures/data bases, improving search algorithms and relevancy/accuracy)
  • Information and data representation, particularly in regard to interface design, product development, and working within an information and technology ecosystem

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

  • Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in a relevant field, by the time of appointment
  • Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors (commensurate with rank)
  • Strong record of garnering and participating on external funded projects
  • Proven record of high-quality research publications
  • Experience in directing research labs, centers, or similar facilities
  • Ability to teach courses consistent with SISLT instructional needs
  • Ability to advise and provide research supervision to graduate students, and serve on dissertation committees for other students within SISLT
