Candidate for Director of External Relations

C. Sean Burns
Associate Professor
University of Kentucky

Candidate's Statement:
I am grateful for the possibility to serve ALISE as Director of External Relations. I have been fortunate to attend most of the annual ALISE conferences since 2010 and to have participated as a member or chair on a number of committees and as co-convener on the Historical Perspectives SIG. In these last ten years of membership, I have benefited from meeting many giving and wonderful people from the programs, agencies, and libraries spread across Canada and the United States. I believe it is this network of people that is the source of ALISE’s strength, and I would be delighted to continue to support and strengthen that network as part of my primary duty as Director of External Relations.

Sean Burns is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky’s School of Information Science where he teaches in both the library science program and the information communication technology program.
