The faculty vacancy is a 9-month position; with optional summer employment. The school seeks outstanding applicants to teach in library science, with specialty in the areas of school librarianship and information technology. The school supports curricula for students in the College of Professional Education, College of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing, including a dual master's degree in Library Science and Health Studies and a minor in Library Science for doctoral students in other disciplines. The School of Library and Information Studies, one of four departments in the College of Professional Education, is committed to excellence in graduate education. Currently, there are 13 FTE faculty lines. The School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University offers the oldest continuously-accredited Master's degree program in the Southwest. In addition, the School offers preparation for certification in School Librarianship. The Master's degree programs are accredited by the American Library Association and available entirely online.
